This year INOR celebrates 75 years within the temperature industry and thereby 75 years as a partner to the global industry. A mission based on trust which we are proud of and looking forward to develop further in the future.

75 years ago in 1939 the first steps in the history of INOR took place. Alfred Brakl emigrated from Austria to Sweden and founded INOR Process AB. Since the very first days the company has been focused on temperature measurement. Initially the company was a sales company distributing temperature assemblies and components.

INOR expanded over time and started assembly of instruments and service. In the sixties INOR decided to develop their own temperature transmitter. This development led to a major breakthrough in 1974 when INOR invented and developed the world’s first head-mounted transmitter. The head-mounted temperature transmitter has since then turned into an international standard. The heritage of this has continued with more own-developed high quality transmitters and INOR is today a well renowned brand name all over the world.

INOR has been manufacturing temperature assemblies and transmitters since the 1950’s and over the years has acquired an extensive competence in the field of industrial temperature measurement. The product portfolio has increased to include both standard assemblies and unique, special designed instruments in different materials and shapes.

In 1995 INOR became certified according to ISO 9000, which was an important step to further establish INOR as a leading high-quality company.

In 2006 INOR was acquired by the KROHNE Group. The product portfolio and temperature measurement competence was exactly what KROHNE was looking for to further expand their portfolio of high-quality process instruments. The development of INOR has since then been focused on further expansion of the product portfolio and globalising the offer. An example of this is the delivery to the Solana solar plant in Arizona, USA where more than 1,100 measuring points and several unique special sensors and multi points were supplied by INOR. The order included 1,148 OPTITEMP TT 51 transmitters, a HART® transmitter with SIL2 approvals.

In 2011 the company moved to new facilities allowing for improved process control, more space and larger capacity. At the same time the company changed its name to KROHNE INOR combining the strong brand names of both companies.

Today KROHNE INOR products are represented in more than 100 countries worldwide, offering a comprehensive product portfolio throughout the entire range of industrial temperature measurement instruments.
